I woke up this morning and after sitting for at least 30 minutes in a bleary eyed burrito state of pure sleepy, I checked Facebook. Because who doesn’t want to mindlessly scroll through peoples’ life details before breakfast? I do, apparently.
According to the great world of social media, the grand ol’ U. S. of A is experiencing (or is in the recovery of) a nasty cold front sweeping the country. Seeing as I am here in mild California, I feel a little out of the loop. So, I’m sorry to everyone bundling up against the -20 windchill, but we turn off our heater at night so it doesn’t get too toasty.
While many of my friends are adding another layer and putting the kettle on for another warm steamy cuppa, it’s in the 60s here so I reeally don’t mind getting my caffeine intake in a more icy form. Frappucinos!
Frappucinos are pretty much the reason our good friend Starbucks is the franchise of the decade. Everyone loves drinking a coffee that reminds them of a milkshake. It even convinces non coffee lovers (like me!) to drink some, they’re that good.
But I’ve got something Starbucks doesn’t. (Whoo! How many times can you claim that? Starbucks has everything you could ever need.)
Peanut butter Frappucinos. Mmmmmmmm!
Maybe that sounds weird, maybe you aren’t a peanut butter fan, but I’m telling you.
It isn’t weird, you should like peanut butter more, and for heaven’s sake, try this right away! It’s so frothy, creamy, with a sweet nutty coffee kick. It’s incredibly easy and much cheaper than anything on a Starbucks menu. What’s stopping you?
- ¾ cup double string coffee
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- ½ cup milk
- 2 Tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 3 Tablespoons chocolate syrup (optional if you want a Mocha)
- 2 cups ice
- In your blender combine all the ingredients and blend on medium or the "Smoothie" option for about 2 minutes or until all the ice has broken up and the frappucino is frothy.
- Pour into a glass immediately and enjoy!
